FanDuel & DraftKings DFS Pitchers
Gerrit Cole is one of the best pitchers in the MLB today. The last time we saw him on a mound against actual competition was in the World series. As you know, that was against the Washington Nationals. In that game he pitched 7 innings of 3 hit ball, 1 ER, 9 Ks and 32.8 FP on DraftKings. There are a couple of players missing from this lineup. Both Rendon and Zimmerman are no longer with the team so it’s a little easier lineup than he saw in the World Series. Don’t let that thought be the only one you have because after so many months off of real competition anything can happen to start the season.
It’s really hard to find amazing pitching match-ups like this to start the season off. We have a fantastic match-up with Cole vs Scherzer. Now Scherzer has been in the NL for a number of years so he hasn’t played the Yankees much at all. That doesn’t mean he can’t absolutely dominate them either. He is an elite pitcher with elite stuff and can absolutely dominate the best lineups in the League.
Cueto missed most of 2019 following TJ surgery. He did make 4 starts to end the season but posted an inflated 5.06 ERA, 1.25 WHIP and only 13:9 K/BB over just 16 innings. He is now tasked with facing the massive Dodgers lineup that should absolutely dominate him. If you’re into making multiple lineups, you could use Cueto as your GPP pitcher but that would be on the hope that he dominates them somehow and you have very low ownership.
I don’t want to say Kershaw will fly under the radar in this slate, but he’s the 3rd highest salaried pitcher behind both Cole and Scherzer and he has a fantastic match-up. Most days he would be the highest priced pitcher, but not today. I absolutely LOVE Kershaw in this game, just hoping we get at least 6+ innings out of him.

REMEMBER: These are lineups we use, but feel free to pick and choose plays and make your own lineups. Don’t ALWAYS follow these as they don’t hit 100% of the time. We do use these but sometimes late scratches happen and it’s too late to update the lineup. Good luck and bring home the bacon.
