11 Sep Fantasy Football Week 2 Waiver Wire: Jared Cook, T.J. Yeldon, Quincy Enunwa, and more
Week 1 was rough on the injury front, it should lead to a busy waiver wire heading into Week 2. In this article we will provide players at QB, RB, WR, and TEs for your consideration for your season long leagues.
Week 1 Injury Notes: Delanie Walker is out for the season with a dislocated ankle and torn ligaments. He had the worst injury of week 1. Aaron Rodgers might be the biggest name but we saw him come back and complete one of the greatest comebacks in Packers’ history if not NFL history. We will monitor this situation but all signs point to his return in week 2. We already knew that Doug Baldwin was going to have a nagging knee injury all season but he has a partial MCL tear. He’s going to be out a while if not all season, no clue why he was even on the field. Leonard Fournette could possibly be out for week 2 so TJ Yeldon should be the top add at the RB position. Let’s get into the players!
Injured Players: Aaron Rodgers (knee), Marcus Mariota (elbow), Carson Wentz (knee)
Ryan Fitzpatrick– Threw for 417 yards and four touchdowns through the air in the season opener, and will surely be the top QB target but he has a tough match-up against an Eagles’ defense that held Matt Ryan without a touchdown last Thursday.
Tyrod Taylor- He had some BRUTAL weather conditions and only completed 15 of his 40 pass attempts, but still showed his fantasy value by rushing for 77 yards and a touchdown, but this week he gets to face the Saints, their defense allowed the second-most total yards last week, and I could honestly see the Browns getting the W in what should be a very high scoring affair.
Injured Players: Leonard Fournette (hamstring), Devonta Freeman (knee), Sony Michel (knee), Marlon Mack (hamstring), LeGarrette Blount (knee), Jeremy Hill (knee), Kenneth Dixon (knee)
TJ Yeldon– This is all dependent on if Fournette is out this week but he could always re-aggravate this injury. Not much to say about this as he’s facing the Patriots’ defense which gave up the 13th most fantasy points to RBs in Week 1.
Phillip Lindsay- He was involved in the run and pass game and Week 2 he faces a Raiders defense that gave up a receiving TD to Todd Gurley in its opener.
Honorable Mentions: Jalen Richard, Austin Ekeler
Injured Players: Doug Baldwin (knee), Marquise Goodwin (thigh), Will Fuller (hamstring), Alshon Jeffery (shoulder), DeVante Parker (finger), DeSean Jackson (concussion)
Quincy Enunwa– Most people probably forgot all about him after he had a pretty serious injury/surgery and missed all of last year. Well, they remember who he is now. In week 1 he saw 10 targets while the rest of the team saw 11 combined.
Honorable Mentions: Ted Ginn Jr, Geronimo Allison, Corey Coleman
Injured Players: Delanie Walker (ankle), Greg Olsen (foot), Vance McDonald(foot), Hayden Hurst (foot)
Jared Cook- This will be probably the most added player of any position ahead of week 2. Cook exploded in week 1 for nine catches and 180 yards on 12 targets in the Raiders’ loss to the Rams and should be Derek Carr’s top target again in Week 2 against a Broncos’ defense that allowed Seahawks’ rookie tight end Will Dissly 3 catches on 5 targets for 105 yards and a TD Sunday.
Honorable Mentions: Eric Ebron, Will Dissly, Benjamin Watson, Jonnu Smith
