 Daily Matchups for 7/31/2016

Noah Syndergaard- Absolutely love Thor in this matchup against the Rockies as the spacious Citi Field. Syndergaard has held Colorado to a .200 BA (4 for 20) with a 13.6 K%, 9.1 B%. This includes 5 flyouts, 3 groundouts, 3 popouts, 3 strikeouts, 2 walks and 2 HRs. He’s averaging 39.80 FanDuel FP this season and Is coming off of a 6 IP, 7 hits, 3 walks, 8 Ks, 2.45 ERA, and 36 FP his last start against the Cardinals.

Corey Kluber- He’s our next stud of the day. He’s facing an Oakland team that he has been able to handle all of his career. Kluber has allowed only a .231 BA (15 for 65) with a 22.2 K%, 6.9 B% including 18 groundouts, 16 strikeouts, 11 flyouts, 10 singles, 5 walks, 2 Hrs. Kluber himself is averaging 38.70 FanDuel FP this season and draws a great matchup. He’s only had 2 down games in his lasat 10 and is coming off of a great game against the Orioles’ power bats where we saw Kluber pitch 7 innings, allowing 6 hits, 1 walk, 8 strikeouts and 36 FP. I could see him go for 40+ FP today.

Jerad Eickhoff- He is going up against the Braves which is a dream for most pitchers this season. Eickhoff has allowed only a .200 BA (14 for 70) with a 20.5 K% anda  7.7 B%. He’s struck out 16 batters with 16 flyouts, 12 groundouts, allowing only 2 HRs. He’s averaging 29.71 FanDuel FP. Eickhoff had a tremendous game his last start where he pitched against Miami for 7 innings, allowing only 5 hits, 1 walk, striking out 8 and getting 42 FP. We think he will be under 10% owned and should be in store for a great game.

Steven Wright- You have to make sure the humidity and weather is just Wright (get it?!) because he’s absolutely terrible when it’s too humid or wet out. Normally we don’t like targeting pitchers against Angels’ bats as they just don’t strike out enough, but a knuckleball pitcher is a whole different ballgame. Wright has held LAA to a .238 BA (10 for 42) with a 14.6 K%, and a 10.4 B%. He’s struck out 7 while getting 9 groundouts, 7 flyouts, and walking 5. He’s more of a tournament option as well considering he is coming off an absolutely terrible performance against Detroit this week where he gave up 9 hits, 3 walks, only punching out 2 and getting -4 FanDuel FP.

Carlos Rodon- Now this is more of a GPP flyer as Rodon is coming off the DL with a wrist injury. He draws a great matchup against the Twins who he has faced a few times as they are both in the AL Central division. Rodon has held the Twins’ bats to a .218 BA (12 for 55) with a 22.1 K%, 14.7 B%. He’s struck out 15 batters while also getting 12 groundouts, 9 flyouts, 9 walks, and 3 HRs. Rodon hasn’t pitched since July 5th where he allowed 12 hits in 5 innings to the Yankees. You can’t trust him in cash today, but use him in a small $1 or $2 tourney.

Francisco Liriano- Absolutely love Liriano as a sleeper pick today that people will be off of. Liriano is coming off an absolute nightmare of a matchup against the Mariners where he only lasted 3.1 innings, giving up 8 hits, walking 4, and getting -2 FP. The matchup before that he faced this exact Milwaukee team he is facing today. In that matchup on July 21st he pitched 6.2 innings striking out 13 and getting the win with 65 FP. Lifetime against the Brewers Liriano has held them to a .239 BA (22 for 92), striking out 28 and keeping up a 26.4 K%. Look for him to go under-owned and could prove to be a great asset on a slate like today.

Salvador Perez- He’s averaging 8.97 FanDuel FP and is facing newly acquired Lucas Harrell. Perez is 3 for 5 with a double against him as well.

Jonathan Lucroy- He loves to face lefties, and if you’re not playing Liriano, look towards Lucroy. He didn’t start the game last time against him but he did come in to pinch hit.

Evan Gattis

Buster Posey- Lefty/righty matchup. He’s 4 for 19 with a HR off Gio Gonzalez and if there’s one thing we know, it’s that Gio can get lit up quite easily if he’s off.

Russell Martin- He’s had success against Tillman in the past with 5 hits in 11 ABs, including 2 doubles, 6 runs, 4 walks and a .455 BA. He’s extremely cheap as he hasn’t had the best offensive year, but you could pay down here and pay up at pitching today.

Stephen Vogt- If you want a very under-owned option today than look towards Vogt. He should be less than 5% owned.  He will be that way because he’s going up against a stud in Kluber. He’s only seen him for 2 ABs and he has 1 hit which was a HR. Vogt sat on Saturday so he should be in line to start today.

Edwin Encarnacion- ALERT ALERT ALERT, Get him in your lineup today against Tillman. He has arguably the best matchup of the day for any hitter and he’s not even the highest ranked first baseman. He’s absolutely dominated Tillman in his career with 16 hits in 53 ABs including 10 singles, 3 doubles, 3 HRs and a .302 BA. EE will hit a BOOMstick shot today, book it.

Chris Davis- Love him as well if you’re going to be paying way down. Somehow Crush is only $2,800 on FD today. He’s facing Aaron Sanchez (who is having a career year)  and Davis has dominated him in the past. He has 6 hits in 12 ABs including 2 singles, a double, and 3 HRs. He might be more of a GPP Boom or Bust option but a very cheap one.

Miguel Cabrera- He hasn’t had much success against Keuchel (2 for 12) but he’s not the same pitcher he was last year. Miggy turn any man into a boy and today he could shave Keuchel’s beard with a hit right up the middle. You’re welcome to use this saying anytime you want!

Justin Morneau- Make sure he starts, but he is in a great spot if he does. He’s seen enough of Santana to know what his pitches look like. He’s got 6 hits in 22 ABs including a single, a double, and 4 HRs. Cheap option to pair with your stud pitcher today.

Dee Gordon- Freshly back off of the suspension, he’s at the leadoff spot and still has his speed. Gordon is 8 for 16 against Carlos Martinez. He has 7 singles, and a double against Martinez. He’s a great option today.

Ian Kinsler

Neil Walker

Devon Travis

Ryan Schimpf

Jurickson Profar

Josh Donaldson

Hernan Perez- Is there anyone hotter right now than this guy? I wouldn’t be surprised if he ends up being the NL Player of the week. Perez not only has the capability of hitting a HR, but he can steal bases as well. Perez has seen Liriano for 10 ABs and has 4 hits including a double, triple, 2 runs, and 3 RBIs.

Nick Castellanos

Adrian Beltre

Pedro Alvarez- He’s 2 for 4 with a HR against Sanchez. And he’s cheap.

Alex Rodriguez

Brad Miller- When you think STUD you don’t think Miller but we love him today. Miller has 4 hits in 10 ABs including 2 doubles and if Pineda is off, look out!

Troy Tulowitzki- Obviously we are looking at having a Blue Jays stack today in some capacity. Tulo only has 2 hits in 7 ABs against Tillman but they were both HRs. Seeing as how this game is in Toronto, Tulo could add to his HR list today.

Aledmys Diaz

Marcus Semien

Jose Bautista- Love Joey Bats today and especially in a Blue Jays stack. Bautista has 11 hits in 42 ABs against Tillman but he has 5 singles, 3 doubles, and 3 HRs against him as well.

Mookie Betts

Curtis Granderson

Adam Eaton

Kevin Pillar

Steven Souza Jr.

Hunter Pence

We like a lot of stacks today. Really some poor pitching to take advantage of today.

  1. Blue Jays
  2. Marlins
  3. Tigers
  4. Rays
