Daily Matchups for 7/20/2016
Carlos Carrasco- Normally it’s hard for us here at dailyrotohelp.com to suggest pitchers against the Kansas City Royals but they are banged up and aren’t playing well this year. Carrasco has been able to hold the Royals to a .245 BA (38 for 155) with 44 strikeouts, 37 groundouts, a 25.7% K Rate to go along with a miniscule 7% Walk Rate. He’s only allowed 6 HRs in the 155 ABs and comes in with a great opportunity to go 6+ innings, 6+ Ks and the potential for the W which is an extra bonus on FD.
Kyle Hendricks- When you think stud pitching you don’t think Hendricks but he has been pitching well as of late and could get the run support needed to take down the Mets. Lifetime against them, he’s held them to a .195 BA (8 hits in 41 ABs) with a 17.8% K-rate, 2.2% Walk rate and 8 Ks with no HRs given up. It’s not a great pitching slate to look for the Studs we had on Monday night so be prepared.
Marcus Stroman- Stroman gets to to face a terrible D-backs team. He’s only faced 4 batters and hasn’t given up a hit. There’s not much else to go on here so use him with caution if needed.
Michael Pineda- Which Pineda shows up to this game? The one who struck out 16 of these Orioles’ bats last season, or the one who can give up 16 hits in 1 game? Lifetime against Baltimore Pineda has given up a .281 BA (36 for 128) with 41 Ks (30.1% K-Rate) with a 3.7% Walk Rate while giving up 7 HRs. He gets to face Chris Davis so that could be 1 HR to go along with 3-4 Ks just from him. He’s more of a fringe cash play and more heavily used for GPPs tonight.
Jeremy Hellickson- It almost pains me to put his name as he’s not been great in the past, but it seems like he turned things around this season. He’s facing a Marlins’ team that is very up and down this season. Hellickson has held the Marlins to a .213 BA (26 for 122) with a 14.1% K-rate and a 3.9% Walk Rate. Hellickson has induced 31 groundouts, 20 flyouts, 18 strikeouts and 14 lineouts to go along with only 2 HRs.
Felix Hernandez- The real question will be “Which King Felix do we get tonight?” He’s fresh off the DL and gets a nice matchup against the sliding White Sox. When Felix was good he has held them to a .241 BA (26 for 108) with an 18.6% K-Rate, 5.1% Walk Rate with 22 strikeouts, 27 groundouts, 19 singles, and only 2 HRs.
Jonathan Lucroy- Lucroy gets a great matchup against the gas can known as Jeff Locke. Lucroy has 10 hits in 26 ABs with a .385 BA, 8 singles, 1 double, 1 HR, 6 walks to only 2 Ks. He’s been consistent all year and his price is lower than it normally would be at this time of the year.
Buster Posey- I like him a little bit more on DK for the price but Posey gets to face Drew Pomerance lefty/righty matchup at Fenway with good numbers. Lifetime Posey has 6 hits in 13 ABs including 2 HRs, .462 BA, .533 OBP, and a .923 SLG. I wouldn’t be surprised if he hits a BOOMstick shot tonight.
Wilson Contreras- He’s only faced Bartolo 3 times and struck out twice but Contreras is very versatile as he’s still not really expensive and can be used as both a catcher and OF on DK.
Victor Martinez- It seems that he finds his way onto our list every single day but it’s for good reasons. He’s got a great track record against most pitchers lately and tonight is no different. He’s facing Ervin Santana (HINT: He’s not good) and V-Mart has 10 hits in 31 ABs including 2 HRs, 5 RBIs, 1 walk and has seen 124 pitches from Santana. That bodes well as he’s used to seeing the ball out of Santana’s hands 124 times.
Kurt Suzuki- Anytime I see Suzuki going up against Verlander it’s like using Longoria against Tillman you have to throw him in at least one lineup with their history. Suzuki has 10 hits in 31 ABs for a .323 BA, with 9 singles, 1 double and only 2 Ks. Cheap option to
Eric Hosmer- Should go under-owned as he’s facing a stud in Carrasco. He’s actually had his number lifetime as he has 7 hits in 21 ABs including 2 dboules, and a triple. He’s a GPP play for me tonight as I’m targeting Carrasco in cash.
Mike Napoli- This guy is absolutely on fire and he’s facing Ian Kennedy who has gotten lit up this season by the long ball. Napoli is going BOOMstick shot tonight!
Miguel Cabrera- It’s surprising that he’s a mid-range play but he has been for a few weeks now. He’s facing Ervin Santana who he has 6 hits in 22 ABs with a HR, 3 Runs, 4 RBIs, 5 walks, .273 BA, .407 OBP, and a .409 SLG against him.
Joe Mauer- Talk about a lot of history against Verlander. Now don’t get me wrong, Mauer is not the player he used to be prior to all of the concussions, but Verlander also isn’t the same dominant pitcher as he was. Lifetime against Verlander, Mauer has 24 hits in 71 ABs including 5 doubles, 3 HRs, 7 runs, 10 RBIs, 13 walks, 13 Ks and a .338 BA, .440 OBP, and a .535 SLG. He’s extremely cheap and could pay his salary off with 1 HR. I like him for both cash and GPP tonight.
Adam Lind- After that walk-off win from him against David Robertson on Monday night, I like his matchup against Miguel Gonzalez. He’s 8 for 18 with a HR against him which is a .444 BA. Look out for this very cheap option!
Ian Kinsler- He’s batting .308 against Ervin Santana. It’s true that the Tigers’ offense hasn’t really shown up as we had hoped the first two games but Kinsler is in a very good spot tonight. He has 20 hits in 65 ABs, he’s seen 249 pitches from Santana and he has 6 doubles, a triple, 1 HR, 10 runs.
Rougned Odor- Love Odor even though it’s a lefty/lefty matchup which makes me think a lot of people will be off of him tonight. He’s facing Hector Santiago who he has owned to the tune of a .478 including 11 hits in 23 ABs with 3 doubles, 1 HR.
Ben Zobrist- He’s facing Colon and has 8 hits in 16 ABs with a single and 4 HRs against him. Love him here tonight.
Starlin Castro- These numbers! He has 16 hits in 41 ABs (.390 BA) with 3 doubles, and 5 runs against Yovani Gallardo. I like a Yankees’ stack tonight.
Evan Longoria- He’s only faced Jorge De La Rosa for one at bat with 1 HR. It’s a lefty/righty matchup in Coors. Nothing more than that.
Josh Donaldson- This is another lefty-righty matchup as Donaldson is 2 for 2 against Patrick Corbin. This game is being played in Coors Jr. (Chase Field) and could prove to work out for Donaldson. He’s expensive though and might be hard to do when you pay up for pitching.
Chase Headley- He is cheap, he homered last night, and he is facing Gallardo that is not good for Gallardo. Headley has 9 hits in 25 ABs including a HR and a SB against him. I like him for both cash and GPP tonight.
Francisco Lindor- I love him tonight against Kennedy. He’s faced him 9 times and has 4 hits in 8 ABs with 2 doubles. He’s a switch hitter and there’s no telling how much of a game this kid can have tonight.
Troy Tulowitzki- He’s faced Patrick Corbin for a total of 64 pitches, 17 Plate Appearances and has had success. Tulo has 6 hits in 14 ABs including a double and 3 Runs with 3 walks, .429 BA and no strike outs. He’s a cheap option to allow us to get pitching.
J.J. Hardy- He’s minimum priced almost and has had amazing success against Michael Pineda. Hardy is 7 for 15 with 3 HRs, 3 Runs, 4 RBIs and a .467 BA. He allows us to pay up at other positions quite easily.
Lonnie Chisenhall- He’s 5 for 9 with 2 doubles and a .556 BA vs. Ian Kennedy. He’s a good option that will most likely go under-owned tonight.
Ryan Braun- This is a great matchup for him against Jeff Locke. Braun has 11 hits in 34 ABs with 7 singles, 3 doubles and a HR against Locke.
Rajai Davis- Make sure he is starting but if he is I love him tonight. He’s 6 for 13 with a HR against Kennedy. I wouldn’t be surprised if an Indians’ stack does well in a tourney tonight.
Jason Heyward- He might go under the radar but he’s had success against Bartolo. J-Hey has 7 hits in 20 ABs with a double and a HR along with 5 runs and a .350 BA against him. He’s less than $3k on FD and love him.
STACKS OF THE DAY
We like a lot of stacks today. Really some poor pitching to take advantage of today.

You can find the new and improved lineups page at the website above! We are very proud to bring you tons of great info and lineups each day!
REMEMBER: These are lineups we use, but feel free to pick and choose plays and make your own lineups. Don’t ALWAYS follow these as they don’t hit 100% of the time. We do use these but sometimes late scratches happen and it’s too late to update the lineup. Good luck and bring home the bacon.
