 Daily Matchups for 7/18/2016

Jose Fernandez- He is facing a Phillies team that he has dominated in the past. Fernandez has held them to a .238 BA (10 for 42) while striking out 12 and not allowing an extra base hit. He’s the pitcher of the night.

Chris Sale- Is coming off a bad start against the Braves but he’s facing a Mariners’ team that he’s held to 17 hits in 81 ABs (.210 BA). He’s let a lot of people down lately but is in prime position to help a team. He’s $1,100 cheaper than Fernandez and $300 more expensive than Kluber. If you can pair him up with cheap bats, we could be in store for a great night for pitching!

Corey Kluber- Kluber has faced the Royals twice so far this year and has fared well for the most part. He faced them on June 15th and lasted only 5 innings while giving up 8 hits, walking 1, striking out 7 and got only 21 FP on Fanduel. Back on June 5th Kluber pitched 5 innings giving up only 2 hits while striking out 6 and securing the win and 48 FP. We’re hoping he gets the same results as his June 5th outing.

Mike Fiers- Love Fiers as a very under-owned option for Monday’s slate. He’s facing the Atheletics who struggle at times. Lifetime against the A’s, Fiers has held them to a .230 BA (14 for 61) with 14 Ks and 10 ground outs. He has a 21.5% K percentage and makes an intriguing GPP option. He’s coming off a terrible start against Seattle lasting only 3.1 innings, giving up 5 hits and only 10 FPs and that could put his ownership down less than 10% tonight which is what it’ll take to take down a GPP.

Jon Lester- Lester is facing the terrible Mets who love to strike out. Lester has held them to a .254 BA (52 for 205) while striking out 50 and a 21.7% K rate. Lester has struggled his past couple of starts and could deter people away from him, we look for him to have a great game tonight.

Mike Leake- He’s not always an attractive option but he does get a matchup against the Padres. Leake has held them to a .231 BA (15 hits in 65 ABs) while striking out 17 and giving up only 2 HRs. Love him for a very cheap option to load up on bats.

Matt Wieters- You can really tell when a player has a great matchup on Fanduel because they will be priced up a ton from the previous day. Wieters has been hovering around the $2900 mark for weeks and now he’s the most expensive option at Catcher against Ivan Nova. Wieters has 1 hits in 37 ABs (.351 BA) with 6 singles, 3 doubles, and 4 HRs. This game is being played at Yankee Stadium and Wieters will be working with that short right field porch tonight.

Victor Martinez- Martinez is a Catcher on Fanduel and 1B on DraftKings. He’s facing a terrible Ricky Nolasco who has has 7 hits in 14 ABs wit 2 doubles and 3 walks. He’s expensive so pair him with a value pitcher tonight.

Willson Contreras

Nick Hundley- He’s priced up because he’s playing against a lefty in Coors. Hundley is facing Drew Smyly. He’s only seen him 2 ABs but if you’re wanting another stud look for Hundley.

Rene Rivera

Geovany Soto

Evan Gattis

Eric Hosmer- Should go under-owned as he’s facing a stud in Kluber. He’s actually had his number lifetime as he has 13 hits in 45 ABs (.289 BA) with 4 singles, 6 doubles and 3 HRs. He also has 10 Ks as well so he could make a GPP only option tonight.

Chris Davis- I fully expect Nova to get lit up and Davis could dominate tonight and show why his nickname is Crush. IN 32 ABs Crush has 9 hits with 2 doubles, 3 HRs, 5 Runs, 10 RBIs but 12 Ks. That’s what you get with him. He’ll hit a HR but also can strikeout 4 times a game. He’s expensive so if you’re paying up for him, you’re looking for value other positions and at pitcher.

Miguel Cabrera- He’s 5 for 16 with a double and a .312 BA against Nolasco. I think you’ll be looking for a Tigers stack tonight.

Jose Abreu- He’s this cheap?! You have to use him when he’s facing a lefty and under $3,000 on Fanduel.

Joe Mauer

Rob Refsnyder

Ian Kinsler- He’s batting .391 against Nolasco with 9 hits in 23 ABs including 6 singles, 3 doubles. Use Kinsler as part of your Tigers’ stack tonight.

Jason Kipnis- He’s facing Edinson Volquez who can easily get lit up and Kipnis has done well against him in the past. Lifetime he has 7 hits in 19 ABs (.368 BA) incuing 3 singles and 3 doubles and 1 HR.

Neil Walker – He’s hit lefties well thus far, and Lester has been known to give up some hits. Wouldn’t be surprised if he is under-owned and helps your team out tonight.

Jonathan Schoop

Mike Aviles- It’s no surprise that he’s absolutely struggling this season as Aviles is only batting .210 with 1 HR. He has done extremely well against Nolasco with 8 hits in 14 ABs with a double, HR, 5 runs, 4 RBIs and 2 SBs with a .571 BA and he comes in at only $2,000 on Fanduel. See if he’s in there to start and if so, use him as a GPP only option tonight.

Kris Bryant- He’s facing Steven Matz who is pitching hurt. He’s 1 for 3 with a HR against him, nothing else here other than hoping that Matz will be dominated by the Cubs who should fare well tonight.

Danny Valencia

Nick Castellanos

Martin Prado

Chase Headley – Been really swinging well after a dreadful start.  His 3 for 8 vs. Gausman doesn’t look good, but he could be a nice tournament play here with less then 1 % ownership.

Pedro Alvarez

Carlos Correa

Marcus Semien

Asdrubal Cabrera

Freddy Galvis

Javier Baez

J.J. Hardy

Curtis Granderson- He should go under-owned as he’s lefty on lefty against Lester but he’s had his number in their careers. He has 14 hits in 46 ABs with 2 doubles, a triple, 3 HRs, 12 runs, 6 RBIs, 3 walks, a stolen base but also 15 Ks. He’s a lot cheaper than he was yesterday so we can be looking at him tonight under 10% owned.

Mark Trumbo

Brett Gardner- Gardner has 6 hits in 16 ABs with 2 doubles and a HR with a .375 BA against Gausman. I like a Yankees stack as well tonight.

Lonnie Chisenhall- Lonnie has 6 hits in 14 ABs wiht a double, triple, 3 RBIs against Volquez. He’s got a great matchup and only $3,000 on Fanduel. Look for him to be very under-owned at less than 3% owned tonight most likely.

Justin Upton

We like a lot of stacks today. Really some poor pitching to take advantage of today.

  1. Tigers
  2. Yankees
  3. Orioles
  4. Cubs
