Daily Matchups for 4/4/2017

Kenta Maeda- He gets to go up against the Padres, the lowly Padres in this slate tonight. He’s only faced 33 Padres bats on this current roster and in those at bats, he’s given up only 6 hits. That’s a .182 BA and he’s not even the most expensive pitcher on tonight’s slate. He’s at a 38.2% K rate and hasn’t walked a batter. On top of this, he’s only given up 1 HR and he should have plenty of run support tonight with opposing pitcher Clayton Richard who has given up a .460 BA to the Dodgers.

Lance McCullers- Where Maeda makes a great cash game play, we have McCullers makes a terrific Tournament (GPP) play. He is a very boom or bust pitcher due to the fact of you never know what you’ll get from him. Let’s break down this matchup. He’s faced 52 Mariner’s bats and given up 15 hits which is a .288 BA. He’s got an incredible 31.1 K% and only a 14.8 B%. He’s struck out 18 of the 52 and hasn’t given a HR up to them.

Carlos Carrasco- We saw what these Ranger’s bats did last night but we like our odds here. Carrasco has faced 63 Ranger’s bats and given up 17 hits for a .270 BA  with 4 HRs. Like we mentioned in the video above, Globe Life Park in Arlington plays well as a HR hitting field more in the hot/humid summer nights. He makes a great SP1 to go with the other 2 in DraftKings format.

Other Pitchers: Matt Shoemaker, Johnny Cueto, Tyler Anderson, CC Sabathia

Top BvP Plays:

Evan Longoria vs. CC Sabathia- Longoria has absolutely dominated Sabathia in their past meetings which consists of when Sabathia was pitching like a true ace pitcher. Longo has 29 hits in 72 ABs which is an incredible .403 BA. Those 29 hits include 13 singles, 9 doubles, 7 HRs, 8 walks, and finally 7 strike outs. Longo has already homered to start the season and looks to continue that tonight.

Jose Altuve vs. Hisashi Iwakuma- Playing in the same division will bring tons of at bats and in baseball at bats equal being able to adjust to pitcher’s techniques. In 38 ABs Altuve has 16 hits which is a .421 BA. Of those 16 hits, Altuve has 9 singles, 6 doubles, 1 HR and only 2 strike outs. We can easily pair both Longo and Altuve with our cheaper pitchers (like we discuss in the video, you need to watch!) and have a solid starting ground.

Hunter Pence vs. Patrick Corbin- Even though Pence throws like a weirdo and looks like a serial killer, he is still somehow a great baseball player on top of that! Pence has faced Corbin for 25 ABs and has 12 hits (.480 BA) including 4 singles, 3 doubles, a triple, and 4 HRs! This game is being played in Coor’s Field Jr. (Chase Field) and Pence could be a very under-owned player tonight.

As discussed in previous Youtube videos, after 7 years, we've decided to take some time off. My plan is to take a couple of months off and transition to making FantasyTeamAdvisors a Season-Long and DFS Fantasy Football website. Hopefully, you understand and we'll be back better than ever!
