We didn’t get to see this matchup last week as German pitched the Sunday Night Baseball matchup against the Redsox before the series against the O’s. German is coming in with a 15-2 record, and a 4.05 ERA but I chalk that up to the 3 starts he pitched hurt before telling anyone and going on DL. I think German could absolutely dominate the O’s just like all of their pitchers did last series.
I still can’t get a feel for how Vargas is really going to be as a pitcher. With this being a big slate, don’t feel obligated to have to use either one of these guys. There are better options out there tonight.
Alex Wood is making his 3rd start of the season where he comes in with a 1-0 record and 5+ ERA. He has only 11 strikeouts and his numbers against Washington are terrible as you can see above. Load up on Nationals’ bats tonight.
Lance Lynn has really turned things around while adding pitchers to his arsenal and his numbers this year have shown. He now gets a juicy match-up against the Blue Jays that he has been able to handle. He could be a great pivot option or SP2 on DK tonight.
Which Sale will we get tonight? He has over a .300 BA against him and Cleveland is surging. With other studs on the mound tonight, I would fade Chris Sale and look to take Clevinger against a reeling Boston Red Sox squad.
I really like Boyd as a pivot against the Seattle Mariners tonight. The Mariners’ offense has just been lacking since starting out really hot and Boyd could be a sneaky option on a very full slate of great pitching options tonight.
Both of these offenses are currently dominating and I want nothing to do with either starting pitcher at first look. I’m looking to use offenses if anything in this game
I know that Cole’s numbers against the White Sox aren’t the best, but he’s been one of the best pitchers all season and I could see another absolutely dominating performance for Gerrit Cole tonight.
Jack Flaherty is an intriguing option tonight with 30 pitchers going tonight. I like the fact this game is at Kauffman Stadium and Flaherty could be in store for a fantastic night.
