Fanduel Daily Fantasy Football Lineup Picks (12/22/16-12/26/16): NFL DFS Advice

Quarterback

Elite

Tom Brady – The Patriots are a ridiculous 16 ½ point favorite over the reeling New York Jets.  Vegas is calling it a blowout, potentially limiting Brady’s upside, but the Jets secondary is one of the worst in the NFL and we think Brady will light up the stat sheet to generate that blowout.  The Jets have shown recently that they’re not opposed to having Bryce Petty sling it repeatedly downfield to Robby Anderson, one of the quickest your receivers in the league.  Potential shootout in New England? Drew Brees – Drew Brees is typically the safest of starts when the Saints are at home in the Superdome.  We’re running with that theory again this week against the Buccaneers.  The Buc’s have really been struggling to stop the pass and the Saints have been humming as Brees is coming off a 37/48 – 389 – 4td performance on the road against the Cardinals.  Fire Brees up as a locked in QB1. Matt Ryan – The Falcons have the highest point total on the board this weekend as Atlanta travels to Carolina to take on the Panthers.  The Panthers secondary is a mess and Julio Jones is slated to return.  This could get ugly.

Value

Matthew Stafford – Stafford was clearly bothered by his injured finger last week as he struggled against the Giants.  Monday

night, Stafford and the Lions travel to Dallas to take on a much more beatable secondary that ranks 28th in the league against the pass.  Start him with confidence. Marcus Mariota – The Titans are two wins away from clinching their first playoff birth in nearly 7 years.  They’re getting hot at the right time coming off wins against the Chiefs and the Broncos.  Expect a multi-touchdown performance from Mariota. Tom Savage – Savage came in for a struggling Brock Osweiler and salvaged the Texans season, bringing them back from a three-touchdown deficit to beat the Jaguars.  He immediately ignited a spark in struggling DeAndre Hopkins as he was targeted 17 times and converted it into a 8-87 line.  He’s a solid GPP play this weekend against the Bengals.

Running Back

Elite

LeSean McCoy – McCoy is our number one options this weekend at the running back positon.  The Dolphins rank 30th in the league against the run and McCoy has absolutely been trashing opponents lately.  Fire him up as a locked-in RB1. Ezekiel Elliot – Elliot has become the safest start at the RB position.  He has little to no competition in the Cowboys backfield and is an integral part of the offense.  He’s active in the pass and run games and is the definition of a three-down back. DeMarco Murray – Murray, like Mariota, has owned the Jaguars since becoming a Titan.  He lit them up for 120 yards and a touchdown earlier in the season and has shown no signs of slowing down lately.  He’s the workhorse, but rookie Derek Henry is starting to cut into his carries.  That’s likely a product of wanting to keep Murray healthy for a playoff push and run, so don’t expect that trend to continue.

Value

LeGarrette Blount – Blount was practically a nonfactor Sunday other than a goal line touchdown.  The Patriots are a 16 ½ point favorite against the Jets so some will need to run the clock out.  Blount is the likely candidate in our opinion. Carlos Hyde – The NFL should actually pay us to watch the 49ers and Rams, but there be some fantasy relevancy here.  Hyde is a solid NFL running back and should have his way with the Rams D.  Fire him up. Bilal Powell – Forte is likely to sit again this week with a knee injury.  Powell showed to be the most reliable receiver for Bryce Petty as he was forced to check it down all evening.  If Forte sits, Powell is a must-start in cash games. Ty Montgomery – The running back situation in Green Bay has been a joke all season.  Montgomery is a freak athlete that is more than capable of carrying the load.  It looks like he will be lining up out of the backfield again this weekend.  Get him in your lineups. Kenneth Farrow – Well, Gordon is sitting.  Fire Farrow up as a borderline RB2 against the ridiculously awful Browns defense.

Wide Receiver

Elite

Mike Evans – The Buccaneers are playing the Saints.  Any questions? Dez Bryant – The Cowboys are at home Monday night against the Lions.  The Lions are ridiculously lousy against the pass, yet can score a lot of points.  This creates a nice situation for the Cowboys as they head into Monday night’s contest as a 7-point favorite.  Fire Dez up as a locked-in WR1. Odell Beckham Jr. – OBJ caught 11 balls for 150 yards.  Nailed it.

Value

Brandin Cooks – Cooks went bonkers last week against the Cardinals catching 7 balls for 189 yards and two touchdowns.  The Saints are at home this weekend against the Buccaneers.  Fire Cooks up as a cheap WR1 Tyrell Williams – The Chargers travel to Cleveland to take on the lowly Browns.  Melvin Gordon is out, so Rivers will likely be airing it out on Saturday.  Take advantage. DeAndre Hopkins – After weeks of Brock Osweiller apparently not realizing he had DeAndre Hopkins on his team, Tom Savage stepped right in and peppered him with targets.  The Texans have named Savage the starter for week 16, and Hopkins should reap the rewards.  He’s a solid GPP play this week. Taylor Gabriel – Julio’s back, Sanu’s out, Gabriel’s shoulder is good.  Fire him up as a WR2 with WR1 upside as the Falcons take on the Panthers.

Fanduel Daily Fantasy Football Lineup Picks (12/15/16-12/19/16): NFL DFS Advice

Quarterback

Elite

Matt Ryan – You can pretty much bet on any team in the NFL against the San Francisco 49ers, but when your team is a 14 points favorite over the 49ers and Vegas STILL projects it out as the highest scoring total on the weekend, you need to pay attention.  Ryan and the Falcons offense is preparing to blast off. Aaron Rogers – Rogers is questionable with a strained calf muscle.  If he goes, fire him up in a division showdown with the Bears.

There aren’t many options in the Green Bay offense other than to air it out. Take advantage Derek Carr – Recency bias should push Carr’s ownership down this weekend.  Take advantage.  His dislocated pinky should be close to healed now and Carr should get back on track.

Value

Colin Kaepernick – Good lord I hate advocating this guy for anything.  However, the 49ers will be beaten like a drum in this one, forcing Kaepernick to air it out.  He’s worth a look in GPP formats. Kirk Cousins – Cousins is one of the cheaper options on the board this weekend.  Recency bias will push his ownership down as well as he is coming off two tough road starts against Philly and Arizona.  The Skins are back home this weekend against a much softer Panthers secondary.  Fire him up. Sam Bradford – This is more a knock on the Colts secondary as opposed to a push for Bradford.

Running Back

Elite

David Johnson – He’s the league’s best running back against one of the league’s worst defenses.  Any questions? LeSean McCoy – Cleveland Browns. Devontae Freeman – The 49ers grade out as the worst team in the NFL against the run.  Freeman and Coleman should have a field day.

Value

Jeremy Hill – With injuries to AJ Green and Gio Bernard, the Bengals ground game is a one-man show.  Hill ran over the Browns D and has scored touchdowns in back to back games.  Fire him up as an RB2 in a division showdown with the Steelers. Tevin Coleman – The 49ers ranked dead last against the run.  Over the last five weeks, Coleman has been heavily involved with both the passing and running game.  Fire up both Coleman and Freeman in cash, GPP and season long formats. LeGarrette Blount – The Patriots are a power-run offense with a stud at running back in Blount.  The Pats take on the Broncos this weekend in a clash of AFC titans.  The Broncos pass D is ridiculously stout in the secondary and on the defensive line.  The run defense, however, is exploitable.  Blount should beast his way to a solid day. Kenneth Farrow – All signs point to Melvin Gordon sitting this weekend with hip/knee issues.  If he does sit, Farrow will be the next man up.  He should be heavily involved in the pass and run games and will be a hot DFS commodity.

Wide Receiver

Elite

Odell Beckham Jr. – The law of averages is starting to even out after a slow start to the 2016 season for both OBJ and the Giants offense.  He’s scored six touchdowns over the last six contests and is getting hot. Mike Evans – The Cowboys defense is tough against the run, but rank near the bottom of the barrel against the pass.  Claiborne is down, Evans should feast. Larry Fitzgerald – The Cardinals and Saints are the 2nd highest point total on the board this weekend and the Cardinals are a 2 ½ point favorite at home.   This game will likely turn into a shootout, benefitting all Cardinals offensive weapons.

Value

Doug Baldwin – The Seahawks/Rams point total is the lowest on the board this weekend.  However, the Seahawks are a 16-point favorite over the Rams, the largest spread of the season.  The Seahawks should absolutely destroy the Rams this evening but we expect Wilson to chuck it around the yard. Taylor Gabriel – The pint-sized playmaker struck again last week, his 6th in five weeks.  He’s active in the pass and run game and has a plus plus matchup this weekend against the 49ers.  Fire him up. Tyreek Hill - Tyreek Hill is a gimmick player no more.  Over the last half of the 2016 season, Hill has been putting up WR1 numbers on a weekly basis.  The Titans defense is solid, but has serious issues in the secondary.  Starting CB Parrish Cox was released after several miserable starts and the Titans are turning to their young, unproven players to slow down Hill and Kelce.  Good luck with that.

Tight End

Elite

Tyler Eifert – With injuries to Green and Bernard, Eifert is options 1-3 in the passing game.  It’s division showdown time this weekend against the Steelers.  Eifert will feast. Jordan Reed – Reed is back and, by all indications, healthy. The Redskins return home after a two-game road trip to take on the Panthers, who rank near the bottom of the league against the TE position. Travis Kelce – With Maclin banged up, the Chiefs offense has landed squarely on Hill, Ware and Kelce.  All three are elite plays this weekend against a banged-up Titans defense.

Value

Zach Ertz – Ertz has been the busiest tight end in football over the last month with 45 targets over the last 4 games.  You read that right, 45 targets over the last 4 games.  Ertz and Wentz have developed a nice chemistry and all arrows are pointing up for the duo.  Fire him up against a Ravens defense that has struggled against the TE position. Cameron Brate – Brate has quietly worked himself into a TE1 this season as the number two option in the Buccaneers passing attack.  Jameis Winston has struggled with his consistency this season but looks Brate’s way regularly around the end zone. Antonio Gates – The future Hall of Famer is approaching the all-time TE TD record, and Rivers wants to get him there.  A plus-plus matchup against the struggling Raiders defense could get him one or two closer to that goal.
