Fanduel Daily Fantasy Football Lineup Picks (Wild Card Weekend): NFL DFS Advice

Quarterback

Elite

Aaron Rogers – Rogers finished the 2016 regular season with as the hottest quarterback in the NFL. He threw eight touchdowns over the last two games and surpassed 300 yards in each. Without an actual run game, Rogers will be forced to throw it all over the yard Sunday against the Giants. Ben Roethlisberger – Big Ben and the Steelers kick off Sunday afternoon with a high-noon showdown against the banged-up Miami Dolphins. The Steelers are expected to win big in this one, potentially creating a game-flow issue for Roethlisberger. However, the passes he checks down to Bell with a big still count. Fire him up. Russell Wilson – Wilson is out favorite play of the slate this weekend. The Lions secondary is

banged up and they’re playing in Seattle. Detroit can make this game a shootout as both teams are struggling to run the ball and both have effective passing attacks. Fire up quarterbacks on both sides in your GPPs. Eli Manning – Manning is my favorite GPP play of the weekend. The Giants passing offense can generate some serious numbers with OBJ and Sterling Shephard. The Green Bay secondary is a mess and the Giants will likely be playing from behind. Manning is my GPP play of the weekend. Value Matthew Stafford – The Seahawks defense at home in Seattle is tough, no matter who you are. Stafford and the Lions have plenty of offensive firepower and they could, potentially, turn this into a shootout. Fire him up. Matt Moore – Ugh, ok, let’s don’t get too cute here…BUT, Moore has looked decent in his limited action filling in for the injured Ryan Tannehill.

Running Back

Elite

Le’Veon Bell – The Steelers will likely be playing with a lead Sunday against the Dolphins. We all know what that means for Bell. Get him in your cash lineups. Jay Ajayi – Ajayi has been the definition of “boom-or-bust” this season as the guy has generated three games of 200+ rushing yards. He’s also laid eggs all over the field on others. I don’t like the game flow for him as the Dolphins will likely be playing from behind. However, the Dolphins will likely try to keep the Steelers defense on the field, and their rush D is exploitable.

Value

Thomas Rawls – Rawls has really struggled down the stretch and was even pulled last week albeit after the Falcons has locked up the week 1 bye. Rawls can put up RB1 numbers and the Seahawks will likely be playing with a lead, increasing his value a bit. Ty Montgomery – Until I hear that Eddie Lacy or James Starks is starting at running back for the Packers, I’m rostering Montgomery. He’s built like a running back, he’s got the finesse of a receiver, and Rogers is looking his way early and often out of the backfield. Start him. Zach Zenner – With injuries depleting the Lions backfield, Zenner and Washington are the loan men standing. Zenner is seeing a ton of usage in both the run and pass game. He’s a cheap, GPP flyer this weekend.

Wide Receiver

Elite

Antonio Brown – The Steelers are huge favorites this weekend against the Dolphins, potentially limiting Brown’s upside. However, they’ve got to score points to get a big lead and, chances are, Brown will have something to do with that. Odell Beckham Jr. – OBJ is my favorite play on the board this weekend at any position. He’s an elite WR option and Manning knows that to be successful, he’s got to find his star. The Giants will likely be playing from behind and the Packers secondary is atrocious. Fire him up. Jordy Nelson – With no traditional rushing attack, the Packers are force feeding Nelson. He appears fully recovered from the knee injury that cost him his 2015 season and should abuse the Giants tough secondary in Green Bay on Sunday.

Value

Amari Cooper – Cooper and Crabtree are both dealing with injuries, but both appear on track to play. Unfortunately, after injuries to Derek Carr and Matt McGloin, the Raiders are trotting out Connor Cook at quarterback. It’s tough to gage what could happen here. It could be a total flop, or Cook could force feed Cooper and Crabtree. It’s risky, but may be worth a GPP dart throw. Doug Baldwin – Baldwin will likely draw shadow coverage from Lions corner, Darius Slay. Fortunately, for Baldwin, Slay is dealing with some injuries. Baldwin possess elite speed and quickness, Slay will need to be on his A-game. Kenny Stills – I’m not crazy about Stills this weekend, but he’s got a nice matchup, he’s priced right and the Dolphins will likely be playing from behind. Fire him up in your GPPs.

Tight End

Elite

Jimmy Graham – Graham is the top TE on the slate this weekend. He should abuse the Lions linebackers and safeties. Eric Ebron – Ebron and the Lions may find themselves in a shootout this weekend in Seattle. It’s a tough place to play, but Ebron may be able to exploit the weakness of the Seahawks defense, their linebackers.

Value

Jared Cook – Cook is a GPP option only as you never really know what you’re going to get with him. He could produce a 6-100-2 line or he could lay a big fat egg. J Fiedorowicz – The one person Osweiller seems to be able to find in 2016 is CJFed. He sure can’t seem to find Hopkins (thanks for ruining my fantasy season, Brock!). Osweiller is back under center. This is a downgrade for DHop and an upgrade for CJFed. Jesse James – With Ladarius Green still in the concussion protocol, it’s unlikely that he plays this week. Fire up James as a cheap, high-upside tight end play this weekend against the Dolphins.

Fanduel Daily Fantasy Football Lineup Picks (1/1/17-1/2/17): NFL DFS Advice

Quarterback

Elite

Matt Ryan – Ryan and Brees are out top-2 options on board this week, and for good cause.  Vegas predicts a massive 56.5-point total for the game, the highest by a touchdown.  Both offenses are explosive and both defense are awful.  This one could turn into a shootout with lots of production from both sides.  Julio returns this week and, per Coach Quinn, will be free to work this weekend.  Feel free to fire up players from both offenses. Drew Brees – Brees and the Falcons find themselves as a seven-point underdog on the road against the Falcons.  This means Brees will likely be airing it out against a beatable Falcons secondary.  Fire him up as a sneaky GPP play as most will look to avoid Brees on the road. Aaron Rogers – No quarterback has played as lights-out as Rogers over the last half of the season.  The Packers find themselves in a must-win situation against the soft Lions defense on the fast Ford Field turf.  Rogers, Montgomery and

Nelson are all elite plays for the Packers this week.

Value

Blake Bortles – Bortles and the Jaguars offense played inspired football after the firing of their head coach last week.  Bortles lit up the Titans secondary for 325 yards and a touchdown, and even caught a touchdown pass.  The Colts are just as, if not more, beatable than the Titans.  Look for Bortles and Robinson to have big days. Carson Wentz – The Cowboys will likely be sitting most of their key players.  Wentz will be looking to close out the 2016 on a high note.  Look for Wentz and Ertz to connect several times. Landry Jones – With Roethlisberger sitting, Jones is starting for the Steelers this weekend against the Browns.  This is more an indication of how bad the Browns are than what I think Jones is capable of, but he’s cheap and could have a big day against an awful D.  We’ll take a shot.

Running Back

Elite

DeMarco Murray – With Mariota on IR and Murray 99 yards away from the best season for a Titans running back not named Chris Johnson, the Titans will likely feed Murray early and often.  Expect a big day for the bruiser. Devonta Freeman – The Falcons and Saints have the highest point total on the board by a large margin.  Freeman and Coleman are both solid plays in what will likely turn into a shootout in Atlanta. Ty Montgomery – James Starks has officially been ruled out with a concussion.  Regardless, Montgomery would have started had Starks returned as the converted wide receiver has absolutely found a niche in the Packers backfield.  The Packers are in a must win situation and Montgomery will be heavily involved.

Value

Charcandrick West – Spencer Ware struggled all week with a rib injury.  If he can’t go, West will step in as the every-down back for the Chiefs and, effectively, become an RB1 against the suspect Chargers defense.   Pay attention to injury reports leading up to lineup lock. Ronnie Hillman – Melvin Gordon is down.  Gordon’s backup, Kenneth Farrow, is now on IR.  Next up:  Journeyman, Ronnie Hillman.  He’s cheap and will likely see a heavy workload. Jacquizz Rogers – With Martin suspended and Sims on IR, Rodgers should carry the load for the Buccaneers in a must-win showdown with the division rival Panthers.  He’s cheap, and his usage should be through the roof.  Fire him up in all cash lineups.

Wide Receiver

Elite

Mike Evans – Cameron Brate is out for the Buccaneers, leaving a massive target hole in the passing game.  Evans is plenty capable of filling that hole.  He’s a no doubt WR1 in a plus matchup against the swiss cheese secondary of the Panthers. Julio Jones – Coach Dan Quinn has indicated that Julio is fine and won’t be on a snap count this weekend.  The Falcons/Saints game registers as this highest total on the board by a mile.  Fire him up as a locked-in WR1. Jordy Nelson – No receiver has played better than Jordy Nelson over the last nine weeks of the season.  Over that span, Nelson has found the end zone nine times and appears fully recovered from his knee injury.  Fire him up as a WR1 in a must-win situation for the Packers.

Value

Golden Tate – Tate is ridiculously cheap on Fanduel and needs to be owned in all formats.  His usage should be through the roof. Michael Floyd – With Malcom Mitchell out and Edelman lessening his load in advance of the playoffs, newcomer Michael Floyd could see some serious work in the Pat’s offense.  He’s cheap, and worth a shot against a beatable Dolphins secondary missing their best corner. Eli Rogers – Ben, Bell and Brown are all sitting for the Steelers.  This is bad for Steelers fans, but for fantasy fans, we see opportunity against an awful Browns defense.  ESPN reporter Jeremy Fowler expects Rogers to be the primary option this week.  We’ll take a shot with him.

Tight End

Elite

Zach Ertz – Ertz has been absorbing targets at an alarming rate over the last 6 weeks at over 10 per game.  Jordan Matthews is likely out this week for the Eagles, giving Ertz a slight bump to an already high floor. Travis Kelce – Kelce has been the best tight end in the NFL over the last half of the season.  The Chiefs take on the Chargers Sunday.  Kelce is the number one TE on the board.

Value

Jesse James – Ladarius Green is out this week as the Steelers take on the Browns.  The Steelers are resting most of their starters so James could see a serious bump in usage. Levine Toilolo – Toilolo is in a juicy spot this weekend as he finds himself as the only tight end (Hooper is out) for the Falcons in what Vegas is calling the highest total for the weekend.  Fire him up as a cheap, high-potential target at the position.
